Clarissa Villacarte, an AED senior, is a staff writer and copy editor for The Oracle. She joined journalism because of her long-standing interest in writing and she was excited to try something new. Clarissa enjoys being on The Oracle staff for its balance of covering serious issues while also highlighting fun events around Skyline. She wrote a front page profile of Ms. Kaimana in Issue 1. In her final semester, she hopes to write more feature stories and focus on coverage of the AED pathway.
Huy Kiana Nguyen, Staff Editor, Layout & Design, Online Editor
Huy (Kiana) Nguyen, a AED Junior is the online editor and the layout & design manager of The Oracle. HK is dedicated to letting every student have a chance to be represented in the newspaper no matter how you identify or appear. “In our world, minorities not being represented in things such as brand ads, shows, headlines, stories, etc. is the biggest issue that is happening, and I want to change that and let all kinds of people be heard and seen even if it’s targeted towards a small audience,” he said. HK has written many of the major headline stories of The Oracle such as a story on the cellphone policy and a top story on the merging of two pathways. He also has contributed to the paper by taking photographs and assisting others on their stories.. “I hope students will sign up for this class in the future,” he said..
