Fanny Lucas, Staff Editor, Photography Department, Online Editor
Fanny Lucas is a senior in the AED pathway who works as an editor for The Oracle, managing the online version of the school newspaper. Fanny, who aspires to attend college to earn a degree in computer science, stated that she joined the journalism class by mistake. “I joined the class with my friend Emily, thinking it was for the yearbook, but when I found out it wasn’t, I considered switching out.” However, Fanny said that after observing Ms. Shafer’s approach to running the class, she decided to stay because it doesn’t operate like the typical class but more like an actual newspaper. She wrote an advice column in Issue 3, which provided answers and commentary on questions submitted by students. “I prefer to write more personal and student-focused stories,” she said. “I like stories concerning the campus life at Skyline, especially.” As Fanny approaches graduation from Skyline, she feels regretful that she didn’t participate more in clubs and other programs in her earlier high school years. Her advice to others: “Try as much as possible because I didn’t really get to do much during my freshman, sophomore and junior years.” By Jonas Jones
